Maria Strömme

I am a professor of nanotechnology at Uppsala University and one of the most cited researchers in materials science in the Nordic countries. I have extensive experience of leading multidisciplinary research projects and commercialising innovations in the fields of energy, the environment, medical technology and the development of sustainable materials. As a founder and co-founder of several technology companies, I have worked to build bridges between the academic world and industry, promoting innovation strategies and transforming research findings into scalable business solutions with global potential. My personal goal is to foster sustainable breakthroughs that combine cutting-edge scientific expertise with societal benefit. I am motivated by developing teams and ideas that can shape the future – at the intersection of science, technology and human values.
